Today I'll...

be in Omaha!

Jess quilting.

I'll be spending my day playing on a long arm today.  I'm quilting a gift for my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary.  My mom and I are collaborating on it.  She did pretty much the whole top and I'll do the quilting.  The top is made up of 60 stars, one for each year of their marriage.  I'll be sure to share a photo of it when it's all done.

I've been working on something...

I'm getting pretty close to having a new pattern to release.

Light Pole

It's a pattern of the Mixed Feelings quilt I made for my Quilt Market Schoolhouse presentation.  Look for it soon!

Chef Swap

I mentioned a few days ago that I made a set of potholders for Marie.  Turns out, Marie drew my bag of scraps to make something for my kitchen.

I put all sorts of black and white fabrics in the bag and Marie made me a set of 4 placemats.  Aren't they fun?

They're all different.

I think they look good with my charcoal and white dishes, too.  Thanks Marie!

Chef Swap

I participated in KCMQG's Chef Swap.  We traded our little gifts at last week's meeting.  Here's what I gave Marie.

I made her 2 potholders from the fabric she gave to me.  The fabric Marie put in her bag wasn't really modern, so I tried to make the design a bit modern, but still work with the fabrics.  I think worked out okay.  What do you think?

My last KC Scrappy Bee Block

I love flying geese. One of the most fun blocks I did in this year in the KC Scrappy Bee was this block for Nikki where I did the geese flying in a circle and then put it in the center of a six-minute circle.

I really, really love the flying geese in a circle block, so I was a little sad that Carla beat me to making it for this round. I like to have a variety in a quilt, so I decided I needed to do something different for Beth's quilt. I poked around on flickr and came up with something a little bit different than what I thought everyone else would come up with.

Just finished...

This is what I made for Beth.  I really love the color scheme Beth chose for her quilt.

Hope it works for you, Beth!

This was my last month participating in the KC Scrappy Bee.  I decided to sit out the next round.  It's been fun, ladies!

I'm in a magazine!

Actually... I'm in 2 magazines!

2 magazines

First one I'm in is a total fluke that I even know about it. My mom bought Potluck Magazine on a whim and turns out, they have a little photo and blurb about one of my casserole carriers.

Potluck Magazine.

I have a few of these carriers left for sale in my etsy shop just in case you're interested in purchasing one.  They really are great.  I just used one of my own yesterday to carry some bad day brownies to my hubby at work.  They keep things nice and warm until you reach your destination and are really stinkin' cute.

The second magazine I'm in I've known about for months.  I've been keeping it a secret since January.  I sent the quilt off just after the new year.  That's a really long time ago!

Quilts for Kids

Fun, huh?
